Experimental test on full scale bamboo footbridge model
A full scale bamboo bridge model was constructed and tested under vertical static loading. The bridge is 8m long and 1.2m wide. The materials used for the construction of the bridge are two species of bamboo calms, steel plates and metal dowel fasteners for the connections, as well as, plywood plates for the deck. The assembly of the bridge was completed within a day by a small group of people.
